Gary Smith is the main antagonist of the 2006 video game Bully.
He is a malicious but highly intelligent student, aiming to take over the student population of the private high school of Bullworth Academy. Smith feigns friendship with the hero Jimmy Hopkins to use him as muscle and a scapegoat, but his reign of terror comes to an end when Hopkins realizes what kind of person he is, becoming his archenemy.
He was voiced by Peter Vack.
His Qualities[]
What Makes Him Incredible?[]
- He has a tragic past of having unloving parents that were trapped in a failing marriage between a greedy crook and a slutty woman who are described as horrible greedy people (with even his father going to prison) and forced him him on medication then dumped him into Bullworth when he was old enough, which negatively contributed to his current personality. Even if it's subverted, it still gives him a reason for his villainy.
- He has a couple comedic moments earlier in the story that are in line with the light-hearted atmosphere of the game, and Peter Vack's performance is stunning.
- Despite his Hate Sink status, Peter Vack enjoyed playing the role of Gary and is willing to come back to voice him in a possible sequel.
What Makes Him Cruel?[]
- He is in actuality a manipulative Pure Evil villain who wants to take over Bullworth Academy for himself, feigning friendship with Jimmy, using and betraying him, causing his expulsion from the school with multiple scapegoating actions like ordering the burning of gymnasium and kidnapping of Johnny Vincent. He also incited a riot where all of the students hooliganize and brutalize each other.
